Remember Kharkiv? Funny thing tends to happen after months of depleting men in frontal assaults. The counterpunch hurts so much more.

Riots are about retirement age in France increasing. They had one of the lowest retirement ages in Europe.

@caveman-zd5yv The economic problems predate the war. Lockdowns absolutely gutted our economies, the war gave everyone a safe scapegoat to pin the blame on. To say it's "due to the war" when prior there were almost 2 years of strained economic activity and massive governmental spending is pure dishonesty. If there was no war, European economies would still be dealing with ageing population. We can't sustain it. In my country the discussion on raising from 65 to 67 predates the war. France and a couple of other countries are the odd ones out - 62 was too young. Sorry, the previous generations enjoyed the fat of the land but now something has to give. Period.

The Russian army either leaves or gets the forever sleepy time.

Their aircraft carrier had to be escorted by tugboat, their Black Fleet flagship was in such a poor state it lacked defenses the moment it was struck.

Pretty sure the debt always gets paid, otherwise more couldn't be issued.

@AreWeThereYet-2025 The other way around. If you can't pay your debts, nobody will lend you a dollar. The fact that the US has a strong economy means that nobody minds holding US debt. If you have zero debt as a country, that's because you're so broke nobody trusts you to pay back. It never goes down because debt is a numerical representation of the money the US owes to itself. Corporate profits? Your 401k? That's the debt. If you want the government to run at a surplus, the money has to come from the private sector. Money is issued (budget) and money is destroyed (taxes). So debt is really the money you're being allowed to keep. If the US owed money to other central banks, it promised a fixed exchange rate for commodities such as gold, or it borrowed in foreign currencies, you'd be right in being concerned. But the US doesn't. It owes the money to itself.

@AreWeThereYet-2025 Who's "they"? It's not my philosophy. It's just reality. Why are there poor people? Because wealth has to be created, and money removed from circulation by taxation. That means that you need to work for money, and things cost money. If you don't work, you become poor. If you work but cost of living makes up most of your earnings, you become poor. If you invest all your money in bitcoin and then it crashes, you become poor. You can be poor with a gold standard or poor with fiat currency. To print enough to make everyone a millionaire, the government then has to rebalance the equation by taking out money out of circulation (taxation).

Lmao 29 and already an old man screaming at clouds. Keep voting for schizos, both sides in America support Ukraine.

Why would Germany and Russia be allies? The Netherlands and Australia are not exactly happy about MH17.

Russia's economy depends on those exports. Watch Maxim Katz's video on the bad news for Russian exports and how China can't replace the EU.

@ivonnikolova503 Labels don't cut it. Intermediaries have to purchase below price cap or risk an uninsured oil spill. They blend the oil with 50% from a different source and it becomes non-Russian. To us it doesn't matter - Russia is forced to sell at a pittance, or sell clandestinely and piss off the first country they spill into.

MacGregor has been embarassingly wrong for a year now. Why start watching? I already knew he was wrong a year ago.

Been hearing that since March 2022.

He's a convicted sex offender and there's no nuance. He claims Russian tanks can survive 5 Javelin hits when there's blatant footage of them getting obliterated by a single hit.

Really, "googleuser541"? Very bot-ish name.

There are.

The ex-marine in Thailand. Why are all these shills like Gonzalo Lira going to less wealthy countries to marry?

The Italian press reported on covert aid.

Of course not, it's only for defense.

@AmericaAndAllies You're either severely missing the point or pretending not to get it. You don't turn in any card. The US invaded Iraq for example, but NATO Article 5 was not invoked because the US had not been attacked.

There was no regime change. The president flew out if the country and the "regime" voted to have snap elections.

@danielgonzalez7541 Why? The encirclement was prevented so Russians had to do exactly what they wanted to avoid. An urban assault.
