If I expain the danger it doesn't remove the liability if I challenge you to run through a hall of running chainsaws stuck to the floor and walls. Sleep deprivation is bad for your health and shouldn't have been part of the challenge.

He didn't grab the slide on the return, he punched the slide out of battery with his chest and used his hand to prevent it from returning forward. When you take the slide out of battery the trigger becomes unable to interact with the sear. This is why people are usually taught weapon retention and not pressing pistols against an opponent, because the spring may not even close the slide by itself and you'd need to force the slide forward to get it to fire.

If you come from a simple life as a peasant in North Korea and then have to stand on your own in the South Korean job market, there's not many chances of integration and it makes those people dependent on charity/institutions.

Party officials probably live like our high income households, such as a couple where the two earners are doctors/lawyers/engineers. Those at the very top live like our celebrities, they're allowed to enjoy things like car collections as sometimes exotic items are found to be headed to NK, and we know they send their kids to study in the West (Kim and his brother both studied in Switzerland, I think).

The funny thing is that if brands were concerned about downvote brigading they could just disable likes and dislikes. A ton of companies had their presence on youtube without likes or comments enabled. But I assume that marketing departments/consultants depend on engagement metrics, so they need likes and comments on social media. So we have this screwed up situation where they want feedback but don't want to know how people really feel.

Sometimes framerate isn't even consistent through the whole animation because it's an actual technique to insert extra frames to add motion or detail to a specific scene. I recently saw an excerpt of a 1980s OVA where an aircraft is ripped by cannon fire in a dogfight and it was clear they added extra framerate for a second, second and a half, so they could have the impacts, fragments falling off, and then the airframe deform and break off. But shooting the entire animation at this framerate would be wasteful, and in things like human movement it would look "wrong".

@KingCrimson02 Man I totally agree, and I'm an extreme individualist so this definitely shouldn't burden the individual, but the situation is that everything is so poorly managed that no matter how much people are willing to pay, with all the mining, electric cars charging and people blasting AC all day there's gonna be power outages. And again I'm not saying the individual is at fault here, my point is that simply paying for the power doesn't solve the problem when the grid can't actually handle it. They're trying to solve the issue the backwards way by restricting the individual, instead they should give an incentive for example to charge a powerwall that runs AC during the day and charges at night or actually cool the house during the night and use high efficiency insulation and windows to stay cool all day. That way they shift peak load.

@BuetifullPersun Typically you want to backup your files, then format the OS drive. By using windows install media (which is often a USB these days) you can boot the PC through that. The install setup copies the Windows files to your hard drive/SSD and you restart and boot to your main drive so you can use the install files. By booting like this the install assistant asks you for the configurations you want and the process begins.

If all the content was already in the game and any extras produced by the modding team, it's perfectly legal. The copyright holder does not have a property claim over what people do with a game installed on their hard drive. For example BF2 Revive was technically illegal because they provided game files so it got killed by EA. It was replaced by BF2hub, which provides nothing except a way to connect to servers, so it's legal.

If you have weak joints, you strengthen the muscles to keep everything tight and in place, which prevents injury. However, excess weight still puts demand on those joints.

@RealBee It comes down to intent. Twitter is clearly intended to be a platform that criminals have piggybacked onto. But twitter has no need for them, and the user experience would not be harmed by removing the criminal element.

@9MIND9 If the difference is not discernable why do you need to see the frame? You're interacting with a game, which is an interactive medium. A generated frame is not interactive. It's a guess. So at best you're just adding filler between frames which don't matter for the gameplay. At worst, you're running at a low enough FPS that you need frame gen to make it smooth. At that point your screen is showing a frame that can't be interacted with. The motion will appear smooth but the game isn't due to the lack of response. The game will not react to your input until the next real frame. So why do you need to see the frame? Play at 100 fps instead of generating 240. Lower your settings to play at 60 fps instead of 30. Frame gen is bad at low fps, and useless at high fps.

You do understand that you're comparing a virtual world where you take sequential screenshots to render on screen to us giving our hard earned cash for performance increase and the performance is achieved by interpolating, right? When you take a movie recorded at 24 fps and run it through one of those TVs that has smoothing enabled to run at 60 fps, you're not going back to the movie set and recording extra frames to gain more visual information. The TV's chip simply runs interpolation to create "in between" frames, essentially creating frames that never existed. Is a movie watched through 60 fps worth more? No, if anything people dislike that because it gives it a soap opera look.

Well, Fravor should have known that the white halo around the hot spot isn't a cold area, but an edge detection algorithm that increases contrast so that the pilots can see their target better. He should have stepped in to correct the other guy and said there's no cold air anywhere. Is he lying? Or did he forget how his own sensors work? Because pilots know how to enable and disable this effect as needed. Or more simply, he's surrounded by UFO nutters and has started to act more in line with them rather than reasonable people who don't believe the sightings.
