First, people are directed to react content and not the originals because of recommendation algorithms. Established creators will have more eyeballs on their videos than someone who just posts online. That in no way means that people wanted to see the reaction instead of the original, they were simply not given the choice. Second, copyright is a lot more than a revenue protection scheme. An author has the right to control redistribution. Even if the copyright holder is making zero money off something they can block reuploads.
