@waldorfsalad2307 Modding is only illegal when it infringes copyright, for example distributing content that was on DLC so that people can play on the base game, ripped assets from other games, or infringe on IP. If all the content was already in the game and any extras produced by the modding team, it's perfectly legal. The copyright holder does not have a property claim over what people do with a game installed on their hard drive. For example BF2 Revive was technically illegal because they provided game files so it got killed by EA. It was replaced by BF2hub, which provides nothing except a way to connect to servers, so it's legal.
