@Tricendo I didn't watch the original video so I don't know if it was explained. He didn't grab the slide on the return, he punched the slide out of battery with his chest and used his hand to prevent it from returning forward. When you take the slide out of battery the trigger becomes unable to interact with the sear. This is why people are usually taught weapon retention and not pressing pistols against an opponent, because the spring may not even close the slide by itself and you'd need to force the slide forward to get it to fire.

@sammy_wills It looks like an airgun replica. Doesn't fully recoil like airsoft but has some blowback action.

@danielllitpek2014 Because let's face it, unless you're living in cartel country most criminals just run instead of shooting cops. Even when they're armed. The US is an outlier because both criminals and cops are playing with PvP rules and we're caught in the middle.

@danielllitpek2014 That's why I said that unless you're in cartel country, criminals tend to be more pacified. This means that in Europe criminals rarely shoot cops on a routine stop. Does it make sense now?

Knocking the slide out of battery prevents the first shot. The technique doesn't work in real life, but the slide needs to be fully closed to let the trigger bar engage the sear or else the cartridge could detonate with part of the cartridge exposed, which would destroy the firearm and possibly injure the shooter.

@wisewigga7129 They were actually famous about 10 years ago, but they deleted their old videos. They were called V.I.P.E.R.S. Academy and even appeared on the news.
