  2. Consoles have safeties that monitor the hardware and software, this prevents piracy of games and changes to the console that could skip the anti-piracy features. Hackers try to poke and pry into how the console works to see if they can trick the safeties. For example, the signed code - consoles will check if software has the correct signature before running. In one console the devs of a game forgot to erase signature keys so people managed a small hack of the console by pretending that their software was that game. So the console accepted any software as valid thinking it was that legitimate game.
