Giving that the US government is always itching to be responsible for the deaths of people over their own incompetence (NDAA, PATRIOT act, Fast and Furious scandal, etc), I'd say that the citizens deserve the second amendment. I'd really love to have another example, specially because it might sound insensitive due to your nationality, but some fascists in the 30's blamed Communist terrorists to gain the support of the public.
