@markbryant4641 Economical moves like losing so many modern tanks they need to bring back T-55s? Economical moves like wasting the lives of VDV as if they were prisoner battalions? They'll take the fortress. What good is a fortress after losing the men? A fortress without men is nothing. You can walk up to it and get inside. They'll win Avdiivka like they won Bakhmut - depleting their own armed forces and stalling out. They worked defensively? How? What was the defense when they walked into buildings and Ukrainians just detonated the demolition charges in the basements? They had to advance, walk into fire and explosives every inch of the way. That was amazing? They quickly took Bakhmut? They not only took MONTHS to take it, they also needed VDV to save them constantly. We're getting embarrassed? We have lost zero soldiers while Russia's army is becoming more and more like a third world force.

From the start it was talked about how Bakhmut would fall, but leaving the city would threaten the Kupiansk–Svatove–Kreminna line so Bakhmut was chosen as the place to bleed Russia's forces. The extremely pro-Ukraine mass media is staffed by journalists who can't tell tanks apart from self-propelled artillery. The "disaster" wiped out significant Wagner forces and sent them into a rebellion. Things went wrong? No, things went very right. Wagner had to be wiped out in a city. Bakhmut was the best place for it. Survikin ground a lot of Russian meat. And you think the Russian men saw the enemy? Refurbishing 800 T-62 tanks over 3 years per the factory's own statements. That's lower than the loss rate. Before the invasion, Russians also claimed they'd build 100 Armatas per year.
