I don't know the dates and names but there's a battle from the US-Mexico war where an American officer is tasked with recapturing a town but due to no experience with urban fighting they marched through the main street and got ambushed. They fell back and had to ask the local militia to assist them. They kept away from the streets, advanced through house to house fighting, and knocked holes into the adobe walls to create flanking paths. Those urban warfare skills will be very important to preserve lives.
