Don't see how air forces around the world would have loved it. Canada is a huge country. Most nations do not have to defend enough airspace to justify such an aircraft.

@michaelhatch1974 And how does that matter when you can't even get that performance without invading the airspace of two other entire countries? Raw performance is just a number on paper. How to use that performance? It has to be about territorial size when you can't even get that performance in a country the size of a post stamp. Israel's newest fighter is the F-35, which is rated for max 1.6 Mach. And Israel often intrudes into foreign airspace to perform strikes. If anything it's the neighboring countries that need interceptors.
