@joelau2383 I mean, they did find WMDs. Just nothing that would contradict the UN reports.

@joelau2383 So you're admitting I am right. They did find chemical weapons (weapons of mass destruction) that did not go against the UN policies regarding the dismantling of the existing chemical weapons program.

@joelau2383 White phosphorus is used for the incendiary and blocking effect, not chemical effects. Just like depleted uranium and tungsten are extremely poisonous heavy metals, they are used for being dense penetrators and not for chemical purposes. Nitroglycerin also causes headaches due to its vasodilator properties, doesn't make it a chemical weapon. The US kickstarted the Iraq chemical weapons program to support their war against Iran. The fact that the weapons were legally imported doesn't mean anything about how powerful they were, it just means that there was a period of time where the Saddam government was being sponsored by the US.

@joelau2383 "white phosphorus is not chemical weapon under CWC ban list only if it's toxicity is not used to harm anybody" - Thanks for repeating exactly what I just said. WP is used for its incendiary purposes and the fact that it creates a blocking smoke screen that works even in the IR spectrum. "There are more than enough news photo showing them using white phosphorus in urban city and harm civilians as chemical weapon" - How is this related to the fact that shells containing chemical weapons were found in Iraq?

@joelau2383 I had already explained that WP is used for its tactical effects and not chemical effects. I don't understand why you're trying to turn this around into the specifics of a use case of WP being banned, because that has nothing to do with the original argument. They weren't small or weak. They were simply not stockpiled, and the storage conditions rendered them inoperable. They were WMDs, but not considered an illegal stockpile of them and thus Iraq was not hiding them from UN inspectors.

@joelau2383 Again, I still don't see how WP is related to this. They didn't find WP cannisters. They found chemical warheads. Yes, I know tear gas is a chemical weapon. They didn't find tear gas. They found sarin. I'm not defending the US. If you paid attention, you'd have read that multiple times I have stated that the WMDs found in Iraq were not running afoul of the UN guidelines. But you're not paying attention, you're not thinking. You're the one embarrassing yourself, because what I said retroactively nullifies the reason for the Iraq war. I was probably against the Iraq war before you were. You're the one sitting here implying that Saddam only had tear gas. That's embarrassing.
