@hkdoms Space isn't a perfect vacuum either. And there's a difference between proving reliable function and proving a concept works. A rocket in a vacuum chamber only needs a microsecond to prove the thrust in vacuum is real. Much like the RaLa test for the Trinity implosion device only needed to work for a fraction if a second before the explosion reached the sensors and destroyed them.
