  1. In the creation menu, remove everything that you ditched at the point you turn 45º. You'll just pick the thing you ditched last and the first stages will stay attached, just put them on the side. Now, on your rocket try to figure out where the center of thrust and mass is. If you have a top-heavy rocket, it will just dip and start spinning. If you still can't, add some RCS, use it to turn to 45º by pressing R and press T to lock onto the angle you want. But this adds even more weight.
