Nagasaki and Hiroshima were nuclear detonations. They were flashed with gamma and x-rays, plus thermal radiation like IR and microwave. You have a microwave oven and a cellphone that use those wavelengths yet you don't complain.

Dam catastrophes have killed more people than Chernobyl.

That's a problem with the Soviet Union, not nuclear.

Mucho texto. 90% of your points are countered by science youtubers like Kyle Hill.

@steveperry3572 It won't mutate you because the grid in front of the glass is opaque to microwave radiation. You rarely see mutations. What you saw in photos of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were burns.

It isn't. Nuclear waste is made into an issue to prolong political bickering.

The longer the half life the SAFER it is. You can touch uranium with your bare hands. It's short lived isotopes like Cesium 137 that kill quickly.

How many trillions of gallons in the Pacific Ocean?

@pak47man That adage is a rule of thumb we created because we literally cannot get scientific evidence either way. The radionuclides in the food chain were within safe levels. The runoff isn't pure nuclear waste. It's nuclear waste already diluted in water. A slow release allows dilution to a point that even fish near the coast of Japan were safe to eat. If anything, you should be more concerned about mercury levels in your fish.

How much would you pay to not breathe coal. Imagine if we never had nuclear. How many coal plants would we have built to compensate?

Expensive to launch, an explosion in the air is more dangerous than just dumping it in a landfill.

The concrete dome over the reactor can handle a 747. Aircraft are lightweight aluminum and composite. Empty tubes.

Tidal is garbage.

H2 power doesn't exist. It's just a way to store energy, not a source.
