  9.  @pak47man  That adage is a rule of thumb we created because we literally cannot get scientific evidence either way. The radionuclides in the food chain were within safe levels. The runoff isn't pure nuclear waste. It's nuclear waste already diluted in water. A slow release allows dilution to a point that even fish near the coast of Japan were safe to eat. If anything, you should be more concerned about mercury levels in your fish.
