@damyr That agreement didn't exist. We promised not to expand to EASTERN GERMANY. The Warsaw Pact and Soviet Union still existed. There is no reason why the US would have an agreement when Russia controlled the Warsaw Pact and the Soviet Union. None of those countries would ask to join NATO.

There's helmet cam footage, they left the tunnels and fought in the surface, but they would come back to the underground to rest and heal their injuries. If they were hiding, why did it take months for Azovstal to fall? They were fighting and Russians couldn't get close. Russia lost a ton of quality troops in Mariupol. The Azovstal defenders saved the nation by delaying the Russians and taking out hordes of advancing troops.

The Minsk accords were broken when Russia told their minions, their slaves, to attack Ukrainian forces in Debaltseve the day after they were signed. Russia sees accords as weakness, you never obey your enemy. So they ordered the attack when Ukraine had its guard down.

@parabellum2674 NATO said that the process to join will take longer than Ukraine winning the war. They didn't reject Ukraine, it's just that NATO ascension takes several years even on a fast track program. Either way, Ukraine will retake Crimea now. Once that bridge gets hit again Russian forces will have to give it up just like a few potholes in Antonovsky bridge forced them to give up Kherson city.

@parabellum2674 Okay, but Ukraine would reply in kind. Russia wouldn't have the western backing so every hit would affect them more than it would the Ukrainians. Manpower alone isn't enough. Ukraine mobilized men it could push through the training pipeline. Russia mobilized a bunch at once. More than they could train, even. Which is why many are still receiving training now. It's like eating several meals a day versus eating one big meal. You're trying to make a big distinction when it's meaningless. Russia dumped men in bases in derelict state or even empty fields. They conscripted more than they could actually process into the training program. If Russia does another round, it's either going to be smaller, or again they'll have to place men in waiting for months until training is available. Another aspect is that the Belarusian military is being used to train Russians. Many Russian instructors were KIA/WIA in the early war. Anyway, if Russia wants to prolong the conflict, Ukraine can just do the same to them. At that point, the rest of the world won't blame Ukraine when they start systematically targeting Russian industry to collapse their economy while defended by Western AA.

@Evaldas Pauliukonis Those regions were taken in the early days of the war. Russia only has partial control of Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk. Also, recent Ukrainian advances are threatning Luhansk and the north bank of the Dnipr in Kherson so the Russians are about to lose more.
