  1. The footage is insane. They're not trained for fighting. Meanwhile you see Houthi forces in sandals running up hills and jumping into foxholes to nail them at point blank range.

  2. Did you know we supported the Houthis? We provided them intelligence on Al Qaeda, they merc'ed them. They were a huge asset on the war on terror. Then the Saudis needed a war, now we're fighting our former allies. Therefore supporting Al Qaeda by suppressing their local adversary. So we're fighting to protect terrorists anyway. The guy tossing hand grenades. Do you even know if he was on the side of the Houthis or Al Qaeda? Could be either.

  3. Not really. War is a massive drain on resources, and wipes out entire generations of people. A nuclear physicist was killed in WWI so his research had to stop. Imagine no WWI. We could have split the atom for energy first during peacetime, and not for nukes. No WWII. No Cold War.

  4. This is an absolute cope. We shouldn't be evil to keep others from being evil. Becoming a monster to fight monsters makes no sense, because now others can claim they need to be evil to prevent the US from getting involved.

  5.  @NoMoeMistaNiceGuy  It's still a ridiculous point. The US Navy would essentially decimate any force trying to erase the US before it set foot on its soil. Those that would manage to get through would be stopped by the USAF, USMC and Army. Even if this evil supoerpower managed to defeat the entire armed forces... they'd still have an armed populace to control. Trying to make the US stop existing would require wiping out the entire land.

Germany started the conflict due to their government spending creating a bubble, the military conflict and the seizing of assets from foreign banks helped mask the impending economic crash. They were totally unprepared for the war, as evidenced by their chronic oil shortages. Their plan was seizing oil fields from the Soviet Union. The sabotage from the crews as they evacuated the region meant that the Germans were eventually repelled from the oil fields before they could restore the extraction capabilities. There was no way Americans would be speaking German, because simply put Germany lacked the capability to do so. Another aspect is that WWII only happened because of WWI. No WWI, no WWII. So in the end, you're trying to say we need violent foreign policy to make up for our own mistakes when we used violent foreign policy. It's absolutely ridiculous. So we need to be killing people in Yemen to prevent the Saudis from dealing with China? Have you thought that maybe Chinese people also think they're the ones who need to be running the markets to prevent the US from waging these conflicts? China and Russia would take part? Fine. We have been driven into trillion dollar wars. Let them fight. Let them bankrupt themselves. According to the 2010 VA statistic our veterans at one point were committing an average of 22 suicides a day. Many of them were from older generations from before the Afghanistan and 2003 Iraq conflicts but the point still stands. How about they suffer this time? If they want to put their own soldiers through this, let them. Russia and China suffer from many internal issues, some of which are talk about, others that are kept under wraps. We have our own internal issues. And you want to add wars to that? No. It's killing us. If they want to take their internal issues and throw war on top of that, it's their own suicide.

The government had to remove fuel subsidies due to a IMF deal for refinancing, but the IMF recommended adjusting the prices slowly and having an information campaign to make sure people were aware of the fuel subsidy issues. The government didn't do that. They just jacked prices on fuel, which greatly affected an economy where cheap fuel is a commodity that makes access to water and food possible for many. The government is at fault for giving people a reason to protest. Then an al-Qaeda attack killed 47 protesters on the Houthi's side so the conflict escalated. It's the government's own fault that they got ousted. If you can't handle the stinger you don't take a swing at the hornet's nest.

  10. Maybe European countries should pick up the slack (I say this as an European). I also don't want to pay more taxes over it. Let the govt figure that out.
