Everyone with a brain knows that the longer the restrictions are held, the longer this is going to take. The narrative was, everyone's going to get it but we have to flatten the curve. We've flattened the curve. It was understood that the moment you ease the restrictions, you'll see more cases. But we've diminished the peak. However, the narrative changed. Now there can't be any more cases. If you have good memory you'll remember that the restrictions would not eliminate the spread. They'd only slow it down. So opening up always meant a surge of cases. So now even places that high compliance are still going through their second and third lockdowns. By their own logic the more we delay the more this is going to take because the restrictions were only meant to DELAY spread not prevent it.

The masks only decrease the velocity of particles coughed or sneezed, and capture some depending on mask efficiency (most masks people wear are extremely low efficiency). If we go back 10 months you'll see the infographs and 3d renders showing that without mask your sneeze particles can jump 20 feet or whatever and with a mask 6 feet (hence the distancing thing). You're still infecting people, but at a slower rate. Again, if you go back the narrative was that we were slowing the spread (people still get infected with masks and social distancing, just less at the same time) and not eliminating it. So no matter what you do, you're ALWAYS playing Russian roulette. The mask only loads a plastic bullet instead of a lead one. A contact shot will punch through a skull, but the bullet loses velocity quickly at a distance and becomes progressively less dangerous. "You're a monster. Literally mass murders" - Oh, you're too far gone. You're actually those people. "you will never know that number" - You will never know the number of people who starved because of the economies stalling, you will never know the number of people who died because they missed appointments or cancer treatments.

The Cuomos are perfect examples of low status people. And university professors are even better. In a natural order, they'd be bullied and kept on the bottom. So they create an artificial order where they can bully people. Meanwhile in the real world Cuomo cries about being called Fredo. A high status man would just ignore it, the low status man needs to constantly prove himself.

It involves seeking offense in what is not offensive, obsession with proving that inferior groups are not inferior as a way to cope about their own inferiority, the need for an aggressive confrontation from outside elements to justify their views on the world, thirst for power as a way to compensate for their low personal power. Status is completely unrelated to class. So many in the upper classes today are absolute low status males who'd have gotten their ass handed to them in a primitive society.

"It's not to protect the person wearing it it's for the people around them" - When you cough or sneeze you create a high pressure zone inside the mask. What happens? The mask is pushed off your face. When you inhale, what happens? The air is sucked in faster than it can move through the restriction, creates a low pressure zone. What happens? The mask contracts and hugs your face.

@bballjulien No, it isn't because during a surgery you're not using the mask to stop viral aerosol transmission. I had a surgery last year. I had to get tested because if I were to be put under surgery while positive, they'd have to do it in a different room and wearing different equipment.

@bballjulien But the mask is being advertised as stopping aerosolized, asymptomatic spread. By your logic all we need is spit guards in front of cashiers and don't talk to strangers. Nevertheless, if you forcefully blow air out of your mouth through a sneeze or cough the mask will be blown away from the face, expanding the gaps through which the droplets can escape. If you're another person, inhaling will suck the mask into your face preventing you from contacting the infectious particles. So the mask works better at protecting you than protecting others.

Huh, the band aid is used to keep the wound closed (so that it doesn't get pulled apart) and to promote a moist healing environment. However, excess moisture or not re-dressing the covering when it's caked in drainage is actually bad for you. If your skin is for example turning white around the wound, REMOVE the band aid and let it "breathe". Infection is prevented through the bleeding itself, by washing with water/saline and by letting a scab for over it. And by the immune system, while we're at it. But the band aid itself doesn't prevent infection. If you put a band aid before washing you're actually promoting the infection by letting the debris stay inside.

@pouletbaconcarbonneau5879 But it doesn't. It's the cleaning of debris that prevents the infection. Covering it up with a bandaid only prevents the wound from being split apart and keeps it moist. It's not meant to do anything against infection.

Yeah governments killed a quarter of a billion in the 20th century alone. Obviously the virus with 99.something survival rate and kills mostly people with three simultaneous co-morbidities is more important than that.

Intercepting 60% of particles fired through a tube into a multi-layer mask with different materials to exploit both mechanical and electric charge filtering while the cloth itself is wrapped around the tube and held in place tightly with a rubber band sounds impressive. It's not real. The real mask is made from a single material, it's single layer, has a cute print in the front because it's more fashion accessory than PPE, it's one-size-fits-all so it doesn't actually probably fit anyone's face, it gets tossed into the back pocket of the owner's jeans and it is handled several times a day. It's probably been washed 10 times since last March.

A bad history teacher won't leave people with life-long problems. The vaccine for the 2009 pandemic caused some people to develop narcolepsy. It was extremely rare, but people got stuck with a condition because of it.
