Literally everything is wrong in that comment.

@minxbade They're not. What research would lead me to find something that's not happening? The F-35 has the speed and maneuverability. They didn't change the original plan. The F-35 eats Falcons for breakfast. Veteran F-16 drivers get beat by rookies on F-35s.

The enemy is either coming at you, or running away. If all the enemy does is running away at Mach 2, mission accomplished.

@pizzaman5169 How about you do me a solid and calculate the lifetime cost of the F-15 program, inflation adjusted?

@oldenglishforeveryone-robe8279 The US flew a manned hypersonic aircraft in 1959. That's 63 years ago.

The F-35s payload is excellent. The STOVL variant exceeds the Harrier's performance greatly, which gives the USMC and allied nations with small deck carriers an extremely powerful platform. The Super Tomcat can't do triple the damage if it gets destroyed on the way in. I've never seen a shelf with Navy aircraft parts, maybe we do not shop at the same stores.

The US government not only pays more than others on healthcare it also has to pay for other countries' defenses.

@randomguy9777 Freak scenario. Happened only a handful of times at very high altitudes and after testing they couldn't replicate the problem to see what caused it.

They're not replacing it. They're going to replace the F-22 in the 2030s. Multiple-branch aircraft have been a thing for decades. It is working out. It's just you who doesn't remember how bad things used to be. Do you know how many F-15As only served for 5 years in the Air Force because of the C/D models? You probably never even heard of this. Buy F-15As now, buy F-15Cs later. Send the As to the Air National Guard. In the good old days, this was swept under the rug. Now all eyes are on the F-35.

@minxbade Literally nobody's reporting on it. Must be the top sekrit intel you get.

@doabarrellroll69 Well, they reach high top speeds but the motor burns out after a few seconds and then they start slowing down. It's always preferable to be at a high energy state when firing a missile or just be very close because they start to have trouble catching up against a target fleeing at a steady speed.

The 1 trillion dollars have not been spent. That's the planned cost to operate ALL F-35s until retirement.

Uh oh another Saab cultist on the loose.
