@BrianM78 "getting new engines" this is meaningless, there's no true series production Su-57 so they could use a new engine on all airframes. All that means is that it's not even a "finished" product and the united aircraft corporation is just spinning their wheels.

For reference, your economy growing only 1% per year is considered bad. Decreasing by 3.4% in a year is awful. What happened to the 65 bil? Russia is sending 300k amateurs to replace 150k professionals. That's where the money went.

@christopherboyle2403 In either case, tech makes a difference as the cheaper aircraft is fighting with blindfolds on. Additionally, fewer but better trained pilots will beat numbers any day of the week and twice on sunday. Many air forces were destroyed on the ground. The US wrote the book on dealing with SAMs in Vietnam and then threw it at Iraq. In Syria the Syrian S-300s and Russian S-400s could not stop the B-1 launched JASSM. Israel has flown over Iran undetected. Turkey has complained that the S-400 detection range is overstated through the use of optimal conditions. And in the Nagorno-Karabagh conflict the Turkish TB-2 has destroyed Russian built SAMs.

@robo__cop8154 The economy grew but they can't even reline their artillery barrels. They're wearing out. They can't manufacture Su-75s or T-14 Armatas.
