@phantom8926 Yes? Without double-jeopardy, the state could simply put you through trial again and again until they got the result they wanted. Or just try and bankrupt you with lawyer fees.

@alxfonso4924 What does that have to do with the topic? The point is that double-jeopardy secures that save for mistrial or whatever, the state can't simply call a mulligan and keep sending you to trial until they get a guilty verdict.
