  1. It was a lot more than that, Montgomery built up supplies of tanks, artillery, food and fuel. He also trained his troops many who were new. Rommel was also at the end of a very long supply chain and being starved of every thing.

  7.  @Favoki  Think your a little confused, USA was war profiteering selling arms to the forces fighting the Nazi's and this they continued to so. USA did not supply goods, it sold goods. Britain finally paid Lend Lease off in 2006. Lend Lease was set up because Britain had spent all its reserves fighting the Nazis and Italians, they even had to sell all the British companies in the USA.

  8.  @cliff8669  Think you need to look at history book or two. There were about 20 nations fighting the Nazi's and Italians by December 1941 and most had been for over two years, not just England. The USA had been selling goods to many nations including Germany. When Nazi Germany declared war on the USA after Pearl Harbour, FDR asked through diplomatic channels for them to rescind the declaration, a great defender of democracy. Lend Lease was required because Britain had no more money to spend and you cant make a profit if you cant sell. Britain paid off its Lend Lease debts to the USA ending in 2006. Canada however was fighting the Nazi's.

Fastest advance of the Western Campaign, 5 out of 6 bridges captured and would have been 6 if American General Gavin had not spent 6 hours sitting doing nothing! Patton's Lorraine's campaign cost 55,000 3rd Army casualties. Patton couldn't even move the ten miles to Metz for nearly three months September, October and November 1944. Bradley tasked Patton with taking Metz on September 5th. Patton didn't take it until near the end of November, despite receiving four fresh new well equipped divisions in September.

  24. Except that having a war with Britain was not part of Hitlers plan, he did not want to go to war with Britain. If the Nazis had started building hundreds of U Boats then the RN would have started building anti submarine ships, so its a stupid argument.
