  1. The other Submarine base in Western Australia during WW2 was in Exmouth Gulf and went under the name Operation Potshot. One of the tankers used was the damaged Dutch tanker MV Ondina. The Battle between the Ondina and HMIS Bengal and two Japanese Cruisers in a great piece of history.

  3. There's at least two, Lee A. Tregurtha and the Alpena on the Great Lakes. There was a LCT still being used as a ferry out Long Island. Another Passenger vessel from WW2 still around is the Doulas of 1913 though I do not know her war service.
