Why was the reason for Britain sending the two warships to the Far East explained? Its well written about! The fact is that Roosevelt requested it and was going to send units of the USN to the Philippines as well, but did not. He then was going to send all the B 17 bombers to the Philippines, then only sent a few. The Philippines were left undefended.
