@largeman7243 Its pretty simple , Swordfish had six years of war, killing Italian Fleet, Italian convoys, German Navy German shipping then to the Pacific, The Dauntless started the Pacific War in 1942 and by the end of 1943 was replaced by the Hellcat, so two years of war. @TheArgieH HMS Audicity ex Hannover was an Escort Carrier, not a MAC Ship. The Escort Carriers were manned by the Royal Navy. The MAC Ships were a concept suggested by Douglas Thomson of the Ben Line Steamers, and were to be Merchant ships, manned by Merchant Navy crew. The first two the Empire MacAlpine and Empire MacAndrew were managed by Wm Thomson, the Ben Line Steamers. Other ships were built and some tankers converted.
