I cannot understand all the angst, in Scotland, we are Scottish, we are also at present British. I am unsure what the problem of being Irish and also British is? Have I missed something? You can be English and British.

@maxsimilion8193 Think you need to look at a British Passport? The population on Northern Ireland do not get there own brand. The United Kingdom was Scotland and England, and unless the Scots or English become a monarchy then it will remain a United Kingdom.

Brendan Gavaghan If you don't want paedophiles then its time to dump the catholic church. More paedophiles than anywhere else . Not sure where chopping up a journalist has anything to do with Britain, but it obviously does in your head. To have a monarch or not is the choice of the population.

@richardmoloney689 I do not argue that, I think you have a right to your own ideas a and a right to support them. I have some idea from friends about your history and that the Republic of Ireland and the Catholic Church have not been good neighbours. I find it cynical that you are getting abused by people wanting Ireland united and that they are doing there best to force this. The "Union" of Ireland needs the support of the Northern Irish population before it can be done and pretty much all the recent events are against this. I wish you well and hope a peaceful solution is found.
