Martello towers, cant confirm the ones you saw were British built, but most were built by Britain during the Napoleon Wars. They built them all around Britain and Ireland and in most of the British Empire.

Not at all true, Winston Churchill started in the British Army, 4th Queen's Own Hussars, he then went to Cuba, then New York to visit his mothers family. Never seen any mention of Winston drinking Gin.

@alexanderdickson419 There are interesting eye witness accounts of Australia Troops using the Boys in Tobruk to harrass the Germans, especially German officers who drove to the front lines for inspection, the claimed several senior officers killed this way. The other target was heavy machine gun posts.

Lot of cheating going on. There was no road west to east until well after the war. Walking through the rock flows is virtually imposable, the tussocks are ankle breaking The wet soil is difficult. Walking on a flat , drained surface is easy.
