  3.  @gabetalks9275  I agree but Japan will make very little money because there are no tourists to spend money even domestic tourists aren't attending. Restaurants, hotels and stores were counting on fans to spend their money. The athletes aren't even allowed to go outside the bubble. The government will make a little from sponsorships to pay down the debt but the people will be paying for the games for years to come.

  5. ONLY the IOC can cancel the games and the IOC needs the revenue from broadcasting rights. Japanese government has to go forward or will be in breach and will have to compensate the IOC by not having the games. Japan government also needs sponsorship money to offset some of the billions already lost. Thousands of lives could be lost after the games but the IOC will be gone and doesn't care what happens in Japan after the games. The IOC only wants the money from the media companies to televise the games.

  6. The games aren't in one area or city. They are using 10 stadiums, 20 arenas scattered all over Tokyo and the neighboring prefectures. That's a lot of bubbles. NBA is just one sport and than add 40 more sports for the Olympics.
