True, you can really tell by the eyes.

Japanese never give a straight answer especially if it's something negative.
59
You will also be criticized for not doing anything or saying anything. Damned if you do and damned if you don't.
19
Homeless in Japan are the people that live on the street or under the bridges or in shanties near the river. That's why the homeless population is under 4,000 in Japan. People that live in a building are considered low income.
18
I get the opposite reaction. Born in Japan, look Japanese, raised in America, don’t speak Japanese well, living in Tokyo and people give me this weird look. Why doesn’t he speak and understand Japanese?
12
Being born in Japan doesn't make you Japanese. Japanese is defined by bloodline not where you were born. If a couple vacationing in Germany gave birth to a child while there, that child isn't German.
10
That's why the suicide rate is so high in Japan.
7
How do people get to take months off from their jobs?
7
It isn't just being mixed race, kids get bullied for wearing glasses or unfashionable clothes, looking nerdy and liking math or science. Lots of reasons for bullies to hate.
5
@MyLittleGreenHairdedMermaid Not true, A lot of foreign English teacher barely know Japanese.
5
For some people, the costumes they are wearing is what they wear everyday. Glad your MOM was able to experience Halloween in Shibuya.
4
He said he taught there before, and he highlighted the good points of China but wants to live in Japan. I wonder why?
4
You should interacted with the kids, it would probably have made their day.
4
@muajin Not only Jpop but a lot are on Japanese TV too.
4
Fear mongering on the news. It's against the Japanese constitution to order a lockdown.
4
I really enjoyed this video. You should do more livestreams. Keep up the good work, Alyssa!
4
I enjoyed this video instead of the one's of you showing off how good your Japanese and Chinese is. Big Ups to Lisa!!!
3
@dennis9548 100,000 American foreigners, the foreigner population is about 3 million in Japan, most from the Asian region.
3
What in laws are going to say they hate you on video that will be broadcasted over the internet?
3
Mal Blount my bad, never know some guys are very controlling, wanting to know where their girl went, who they talk to, what she is doing. Plenty of people in toxic relationships.
3
The earthquake alarm scares me more than the earthquake itself. Good vlog.
3
Not new, the hospitals know having children is tough. The hospitals take care of the baby while the mother recuperates, and teaches the mom about childcare.
3
It's the humidity that kills you. If it was dry heat, it wouldn't be that bad.
2
@rsuriyop I lived in LA, Santa Monica and now live in Tokyo, definitely not the same.
2
There are biases between light skinned and dark skinned Black people in their own community.
2
It's called 31 in Japan and a lot of American brands have different and interesting menu items.
2
You are looking at Japan thru tourist eyes. Visiting and Living are two very different things.
2
Only Africans.
2
Japan also doesn't have gun and drug issues which helps the situation.
2
That's what's great about Harajuku, No judgements, Just wear what you like.
2
If you win, they love you but if you suck, forget about it.
2
The morning rush hour is bad but the last train is the worst. The last train is usually around midnight and most people are drunk, sweaty and smell like smoke.
2
Your company should pay you a fair wage and you shouldn't have to depend on tips to round out your pay. Do you tip the garbage man, the postal worker, the plumber who unclogs your pipes?
2
Living in Japan for 10 years doesn't give you an automatic PR.
2
So he started the business when he was 10 if he is 80 years old? If he started at 20, he looks good for a 90 year old.
2
I have seen foreigners that wear Lolita fashion get hate and bullied by their own people than by the Japanese.
2
It's because Westerners stand out. Chinese and Koreans can blend in with the population. Even in some of your videos, I wouldn't have been able to tell the people you were speaking with were Chinese but if I saw a White or Black person, I would know they were foreigners. Nice myth busting.
2
Japan is becoming Americanized.
2
There are different reasons for fat shaming if it's for looks. that's bad. Most times it's for health reasons because we don't want you to have a heart attack or other overweight medical issues.
2
They see you as American but then they ask where is your family originally from, I get that a lot in California.
2
@OrientalPearl I wish I got a new job and they let you take a vacation. I have to work at a place for a while before I get vacation time.
2
Japan is becoming Americanized, soon the waiters, delivery people, taxi drivers and hotel staff will REQUIRE tips.
2
When I go there I will insult everyone all the time
1
Trains are no joke. Taking the Yamanote line on Friday or Saturday night during the summer on the Last train with sweaty and drunk people at midnight, the worst.
1
Happy Birthday, Anming! I think, you may have to stay a little longer. There was a new outbreak in Northeast China and they are locking that area down. I'm glad you have friends with you.
1
@OrientalPearl I hope you can go soon. I get sad every time I watch your videos. Luckily it's safe here and the state of emergency will probably end after next week in Tokyo.
1
Sometimes I feel she is putting out videos to say, Hey, look at me, a White girl and I speak Chinese and Japanese. Look how awesome I am.
1
It's because Christmas in Japan isn't a religious holiday.
1
@OrientalPearl I saw a guy using one, I should have taken a photo.
1
You don't know the whole story behind the Greek guy's life and a lot of people omit certain facts. He could have a criminal record or various other red flags. Immigration checks everything.
