  1. There are self checkouts at supermarkets right now. 1 person oversees 4 registers, that's 3 less cashiers to hire. If your full time job is cashier at McDonald's supporting a family, you need to get a better job.

  3. You have a budget for payroll and if that budget gets increased where does that money come from? Probably have to raise prices and maybe losing customers or cutback on payroll and reduce hours. Also my purchases may go up in price because the company I buy from has raised it's prices to accommodate their wage increase.
