There are conbini's on every block in Tokyo sometimes 2 conbini's across from each other. Japanese love their convenience and don't forget about the vending machines on every street corner.

@hildegardvonbingen9092 70% of the population lives on 30% of the land. Most of Japan are mountains and most people live in the big cities like Tokyo and Osaka. The jobs are in the cities too. The countryside is very beautiful but most are just farmland. There are towns giving away houses if you move to their town but young people want the city life.

People focus so much on the wait staff, they forget there are other jobs lost at a restaurant.

I don't tip at Starbucks, their job is to make my coffee and sandwich. I pay for that service in the price that is posted.

@quantum-catperson7458 My country did convert hotel rooms to Covid beds. If you have mild symptoms, you went to the hotel and more severe cases went to the hospital.

All I hear is the Federal government needs to give, payout, loan money to every person, business, state and local governments. They want the Federal government to take care of everything.

People need to differentiate between freight and passenger trains. Freight trains are doing good but passenger trains have a ridership problem. People may like the idea of it but they will take their car first.

That money has to last them the whole year unless they have an off season job. They are only paid weekly during the season. After taxes, paying your people, they might take home around 45 or 50 thousand.

@quantum-catperson7458 The country closed and people weren't traveling so a lot of hotels were empty. Also hotels have the infrastructure, cleaning crew, security, controlled entrance and exit. Even today, countries are using hotels for quarantine for people entering countries.

Of course, you would still eat pizza but you would upgrade your toppings. Wagyu steak, Foie Gras, Lobster and Truffles, Domino's don't have those toppings. You would go to an upscale Italian restaurant.
