  1. It’s a misconception that Amish people abhors all modern technology. Amish people just believe in the power of hard work and physical labour as a means to be accepted by God. For example, though they do not drive modern cars, they still ride cars and hired people to drive them. Wired Internet connection is forbidden, but wi-fi is okay. Electric tools are not permitted because they are powered by manmade electricity; pneumatic power tools though are powered by a natural elemental air (which is God made) and therefore allowed to be used in construction projects
