Germany is still exporting products instead of industries. Small and medium size companies are the salt of the earth. This is where the jobs are, this is where the expertise is.

@JWHEdwards Germany simply does not have +as+ many products made in China, because we still have a lot manufacturing. Which is why the Chinese are on a buying spree since a few years. But there are many German owners, who dislike the work of their life being cannibalized.

@mightymulatto3000 The no. 1 seller of many many years VW Golf is 50 % made in Germany. Most other parts come from Eastern Europe, many plastic parts usually from within the EU, a few minor items even from China. The chassis parts are made at Skoda in Czechia, afaik, which has to do with the VW Group using the same basis for several models across their brands. They supply these frame parts to Seat in Spain, too. Ford has the lowest Gerrman Parts %, 20 - 30 %, Porsche the highest with typically about 60 %. BTW. I read even Tesla is going to use more than 50 % German parts for the cars build in Germany. They make headlines for the speed in which they build up the factory. Germans are not used to this. If they build a bus stop it needs 5 years.

@johnwolf2829 I blame those who cause the problem, not those who try to avoid it. If China had reacted in December 2019 instead of silencing people, the world would have been saved a lot. It is almost as if they wanted it to spread, in conjunction with the WHO.

@TheSpecialJ11 Right. You need to understand that these small buggers are the good ones. They work for themselves, and not for an investor.

@timoborm5095 Deustchland has still a lot of strongholds. Just we don't use them as much to market ourselves.

@johnwolf2829 ... again, Germany has spent an arm and a leg to maintain small businesses even over the pandemic. Even though we can criticise many things that happened, but we are still doing better than most. Which is no excuse to try improving more.

@johnwolf2829 Luckily the previous German Minister of Finances was frugal. He has been harshly criticised for it, but now it came to Germany's advantage. Overall, the economy is still in better shape than others. Similar were I live now, Singapore. The Singapore government has still enough funds to continue fully for another 10 months under pandemic conditions, without making debt. Search yourself another victim for your theories.

PS: and frankly speaking, looking from outside onto Europe, it look more like all you Germans, Dutchies, Brits, French etc. , all you people don't have all your ducks in a row, or cups in your cupboard.
