A big country with a low population density, with people who naturally prefer a little distance to their neighbour ... That could work. A smaller country with high population density?

@SvensktTroll In most countries in the world elderly homes are connected to the medical care system, or even they are kind of semi-hospitals. In Sweden elderly homes are beautiful homes for old people. They do not care for sick people, because these are supposed to be in hospital. Therefore, these institutions were completely overwhelmed by what happened in the first months of the pandemic. Another point is, that in many countries - among them Germany and Singapore where I live - elderly people are basically kept alive for longer. In your country people are easier to accept and let them go, if they are ready to go. This is as well one of the reasons for lesser number of ICUs in Sweden. If these cases would be deducted from your numbers, your statistics would look very different. GB beautified their figures exactly that way. Only those who died in hospitals where counted. Most of their elderly homes are sort of medical care facilities. Who died at home was not counted. So, that's my view as an outsider, from what I learned. Tell me if it's wrong.

He was NOT right on most accounts. However, the remarkable thing is Sweden is not worse than other countries with bad results in Europe. Some of them even had the toughest restrictions, the UK for example.

Consuelo Patagonia The UK was worse affected because of the dumb policies of Mr. Johnson and his devilish shadow eminence. Similar to the US's dumb man. I agree with all points you made about Sweden. What is wrong however (not you!) is the perception by many, that Sweden did not do anything. Wrong. They did recognize the problem, but their approach was different. Unlike the US and the UK, countries which where long in neglection. Brazil unbelievably still is ... and now we watch the happenings there! Another important point: Sweden has a very different structure with their home for elderlies. That particular organisation is the reason for the shocking high number of death among elderlies in the first few months, which is now a big luggage in their statistics. The basic problem however is long corrected.

@somosn4241 Then you put Mr. Johnson as well into jail? UK fares even worse.
