The melting permafrost however will cause a huge problem.

Not that. But it makes the Caucasian countries seem much more important than most of the developing world.

Finally, someone else than me says what NK really is: A fascist state.

@gregharris5278 You are right. The gasses and the contraction of the underground will cause huge problems. However, there will be some areas which will be possible to be converted to farmland, towards the fringes. I do not know what the enormous amount of carbon dioxide and methane will do to our atmosphere, though.

It would not take 30 years with Chinese companies, but rather towards 3 years. They would bring their own workers, they would bring their own food, and their own equipment. You would hardly see a penny from them. The channel would be ready in record time, the environment completely destroyed, your country unable to pay for the construction ... and about the rest you can think for yourself.

That is about right, Yoan. We are virtually waiting for Africa to form a stronger Union. So many clever people, so many untapped resources, go Africa go!

South Africa is in the process of dismantling itself. Unfortunately. Hopefully Namibia and Nigeria can progress further. The others of course, too.

My advice to any African nation would be to not making yourselves too dependant on China. Look at your neighbours, there is so much potential. Stronger economical ties, free trade and more co-operation with regards to infrastructure should be possible despite all differences.

@Uriah Not that much, but its immense weight would be having a great effect on the soft grounds in the Netherlands.

I dispute New Zealand having a similar climate to Great Britain. The South island in parts, yes.

Do snowballs count as weapons of mass destruction?

I thought Chinese love to be where everyone is.

I had a laugh that you think it's meant for cars. It would make sense for a high speed train.

The average IQ will have dropped to below 90.

Reflecting on historical footage, I have formed the impression that Singapore was notably more advanced and often more beautiful than many other Asian capitals well before it achieved independence. While it faced significant challenges, including widespread low education levels, a lack of natural resources, and profound ethnic tensions, Singapore had a formidable leader in Lee Kuan Yew. He was precisely the visionary that Singapore needed at that critical juncture. Under a weak leadership, Singapore might have faltered and potentially failed within a year or two. Lee Kuan Yew serves as a testament to the power of determination and persistence, demonstrating that with the right mindset and unyielding resolve, extraordinary achievements are possible.

Home ownership %: 99 years is not ownership. It is a long term rental with the rental fee paid upfront, in one lump sum.
1
It looks like the workers homes of a construction site.

@Mark-Wilson Caucasian = European
1
@Mark-Wilson Absolutely. It seems an old-fashioned term, yet still widely used in Asia, if Europeans are meant. It is even written in my Singapore PR document.

Isn't then world in a balance? Greenlands ice melting you lose some land - you get some land. And if that happens, they need more people up there.
1
Denmark would be stupid to sell it ... at any price. But someone tell me please, what could be farmed there in south Greenland, and then used to add value in a factory?
1
The reason that they tell us always about the past to explain things, that tells me they have no future.

I did not know Putina has already begun selling Siberia. What an outstanding idiot.

Nice plan to get strategic control over US cargo transport
1
It would not be the aim connecting South Africa with Chile. The benefits for Siberia, Alaska and Middle Americas would be great. And it could also be a high speed train.
