@tonyduncan7608 We will never know this. What is known is she is a person with limited intellectual capacities, and that she was also beaten up by Fritzl, at times horribly. I am not intending to take away any blame from him, but the source of all was his mother.

@aaliyahesparza1945 He let off from heavily physical abuse of his wife, after he incarcerated his daughter. He still treated his wife like shxt, but no more battering up until hospitals are needed. She had a much happier life. So I guess she just wanted to be left alone that way, and not know what he is doing, neither in the basement, nor else. Which is what he did, for example he went for sex tourism to Thailand, etc etc.. I can't remember where I know that all from. May be because the story was spread out much more in Germany. But what I can tell you is, the story before the dungeon is just as horrific, puzzling ... literally from his grandmother's times onwards.

PS that with his mother would be a true story for a movie ... and I guess it would be a movie, that would teach some lesson to everyone

@briannam8230 Much of our problems in the world originate from malfunctioning families. This particular family was malfunctioning for 3 generations.

@MarieNellie It does not make sense charging her. She had been punished and tortured for more than 2 decades. They decided she is punished. As well, police says she is of very limited intellectual capabilities. Probably that is why he chose her. I do understand your feelings, Marie.

You are right, a lot worse. Even this report here is a shadow only of what really was. For example, for the first 2 years he chained her, and forced here to view violent porn videos together, which he then expected to re-enact with him. Serious injuries remained from this. He is a monster, and I think what his mother did to him was the cause.

@haroldlawler2332 His wife Rosemarie has an IQ of 71, he knew exactly why he chose her. I have said enough and what you are writing all over the place seems is more coloured by US media.
