Singapore here. We can buy those Japaense fruits here. 6 strawberries packed like jewels, 1 tray USD 18, 1 apple in a clear box displayed like a statue for USD 8, 250g green grapes that look like flawless green pearls for USD 25, I saw up to USD 50. Give your family some fruits after lunch?

1:40 Pollution from two-stroke scooters The vast majority of scooters are 4-stroke, same as car engines, and also with catalysers. There are very few smoking and poisonous 2-stroke engines left, I assume in the low 1-digit range. Therefore, 4-strokes should have been used as a basis to calculate pollution data. The majority of cars have only 1 or 2 passengers, same as the scooters. But scooters have about 1/2 gas consumption. My choice was a 200 cc scooter. It is a good video and information, please note I criticise only this single point. And lastly, imagine this: All these scooter in Vietnam, Indonesia and Taiwan would be cars. Or half of them only. OMG!

The Doya housing is an excellent alternative. It keep the people in dignity, it prevents them from getting robbed and sliding down the ladder more. I congratulate Mr. Gills to his detail knowledge.

US is a market where race bikes are called road bikes

You are right the market in Japan seems is somewhat similar to the German market.

@thisIsCoopexx we have several things in common with Japan, indeed. Relative punctuality, a certain level of pride taken when striving to do a good job, we prefer jobs where we can stay for longer, many rules (not all) are not just paper-rules, most pavements are proper and not for shops to display their goods, both countries are parliamentary democracies and quite accurately of the same size, both countries have excellent engineering. And: Both countries are generally seen pretty clean and of amazing beauty.

@PouchBeam honest, without any intention to offend Japanese people, please allow me to say the following: For the most part to me Tokyo is an agglomeration of lower quality, in different shades of grey kept buildings with mostly simple appearance and not much character. Also the quality is not that good on a closer look, and sure behind the quality of other Japanese products as the worlds knows them. How the OP can think of it as colorful and well-kept is somewhat beyond me. Clean and well organized, sure. It's one of the few big cities in Asia worth living, most of the other are dirty and chaotic places. The real beauty of Japan is outside Tokyo.

@Bionickpunk I doubt you will get a Republican to move into that direction. Even among Democrats, it would be not so easy.

This is a nice place and Mr. Toshirō seems to be a good major and open to visitors and also new ideas for tourism and living in Kofu. My son is looking to do farm-work (voluntary) but there seems to be so many obstacles, English language being one of them.

@sirBrouwer yep that's what I thought. May be your people are the inventors of the practical bike, the one for every day and everything

@sirBrouwer EU! Lets stick together!

@OllamhDrab KIA is not bad these days.

@mindstalk With modern steel, bikes can be almost as light as aluminium frame bikes. Only steel is real.

That guy knows his stuff ... unlike the bike shops here in Singapore with their overpriced bikes.

@AlexSchwartzATV I want Japan. I do not mind carrying coins. Fax is safer than any message system.
1
@frez8141 no, I am using a different IP and a firewall. And then to stand up for the fax: safe, discret, private, no insecurities if the other party has received it. Cash: Nothing is better than the fish in my own net. I know it is not possible to prevent cashless. But note: Who controls the money of the people controls the people. You will remember this some day.

I thought most of you live in landed properties? Easier to buy an electric with your own battery, and charge it in your garage.

@Bionickpunk I hear you, yep there is little actual difference. But there are people like Bernie Sanders, he knows about the importance to get your infrastructure up. It seems to me for most Americans he is more communist than anything, for us Germans he would be on the center-right. How could your country move so much to the right wing? I understand in the 30s you had the entire political spectrum.
