I am German. Nobody of us wants any war, I believe the same is true for all Europeans. We can have our differences ... but at the same time, let us agree on one thing: No wars! Greetings to Japan and thank you for your post! No wars, no support of dictatorial regimes.

@thinkforyourself6953 Germany and France are fighting since decades for the EU, no way we can force the others. Latest since the Irak war Germany, France and other do not blindly follow anymore US foreign policies. My personal view is close to this: https://youtu.be/8X7Ng75e5gQ What has Putin reached now with this war? - The US is standing there in front of the European leaders saying: "See, we told you!" - There is no way anymore Germany could get through in the EU with trade and diplomacy strategies towards Russia. - National military budgets are being doubled. - Many who before said we don't need the Nato anymore now think it is more important then ever. Bravo. Solve your problems with the US, how about that? Most of the above has nothing directly to do with Germany. A complete bad advice Putin had fallen to, it seems, plus an uninformed population, all so similar to what China is. I believe he has been mislead. China is using Russia as a proxy, same as the US is using other countries as a proxy.

@thinkforyourself6953 Let me know if you managed to listen. The actual talk is only 35 minutes, the rest is discussion. From what you write I understand you will agree to most what's being said there, my guess.

All of them die for a grumpy, frustrated 70 yo dictator.

@liamvictor6969 Nobody in Europe understands why Putin feels Europe puts a gun at his head. But that is not even what I meant. What I meant to say is: Young people, soldiers die on both sides. Useless and absolutely unnecessary. Your hostility will only make it worse.

@thinkforyourself6953 I can't accept this, at least not to full extend. As ex-chancellor Schroeder said, mistakes had happened on both sides. For 2 decades Germany has followed strategies in line with trade and diplomacy towards Russia, so much that many already blamed Germany for having no balls. Scholz was the last to agree supporting the Ukraine with weapons, the last to agree to the "Swift-sanctions". As he said, not yet all diplomatic possibilities had been exhausted. The world laughed at Germany because they only shipped a few thousand helmets to Kiev. Scholz said to Putin that a Nato membership of the Ukraine is not on the table. Literally 2 days later he started that war. Macron did say several times, that Russia's security concerns must be addressed. It's not that EU countries did never try, and blindly went on with military plans. Where did you get that from? I do not know what brought Putin now to this decision. But I know it was a big mistake.

@artemgr6247 Hi Artem, To me it seems that Putin had very bad advice and misjudged the situation terribly wrong. Germany buys so much Oil and Gas from you, our ex-chancellor Schroeder is working for two of your big companies, he is under immense fire for this now. There was the North Stream 2 project. Germany had put its army into sleep mode, the US was asking us since 20 years to increase the military budget. Etc. No person in the Europe wants any war, neither were we prepared for any! We all were totally surprised by all this. Do you have knowledge of the meeting in between Putin and Scholz, when Scholz said the Nato membership of the Ukraine is not on the table? Please explain why do you think we force Russia to begin such a war now? What happened concretely? And why do the Russian soldier have to bomb maternity hospitals and elderly homes?

@curiouscampbell5447 I believe so. This war is the last thing we need now at the end of the pandemic. Even though both sides have done their mistakes, but it is the brutality that Putin displays there in the Ukraine which makes him to a war criminal. He will end like most dictators.
