  1. I'm a boomer woman. I was told I couldn't go to college. Later I found out that I had an iq of 135. Also, I was on the honor roll in high school. I was discouraged from being anything. I was discouraged from even being a wife and having kids. But I made my way with my own unique talent that I'd had since a toddler - singing. I got to stay in nice hotels for free and eat for free for many years and while other band members squandered their money, I saved mine. Then I got a neuromuscular disease that cut it all off, ruined my career. We never know what's going to happen. But a big rule is - never blame anyone else, and don't blame yourself either. Just do the best you can. Feeling sorry for yourself gets you nowhere. @grocerygoat06

  3. Only teachers, etc aka g'ment jobs get pensions. And we pay for their pensions.

  5. Same. Friend just got on medicare and soc sec. Was having arm pains. Couldn't get into a doctor. Had heart attack and died.  @LilyGazou
