I said it 20 years ago that this brat politician will try to become a dictator and eventually cause a war. All red flags were there. Dictators are not incriminated for whatever they do unless they loose a war. They use crimes in their way to capture and keep the power. So they are ready to do everything - as long they benefit from it. Imagine a douchebag that has two options to solve a problem - diplomatic or fighting. He will choose the way he is accustomed.... This is the way of solving problems for Putin - remember Chechnya, Georgia, Crimea. He likes to solve it like that. Remember, as long he benefits from it. He thinks in his army's greatness and is EAGER to show it. That's the reason. He is eager to do what he does.
