  1. Our ancestors did this with stone knifes and axes and spears. Of course it works. It is flesh and bones. But you need luck though to survive. A knife is more lethal than the bear has but he can break your arms and bite you from the neck.

  3.  @theshermantanker7043  I bet they had more endurance too. :) Back then bears and cats were bigger also. I still don't believe the story with punching to death. Maybe one immobilized animal.
