  2. Turbo lag may be cool for amateurs and street cars. But in racing you always want a fast responding engine. That's because being quick in corners means balancing the car. When you break, the front goes down, the back goes up and you lose grip to the point of spinning. But hitting throttle the front goes up, the back goes down and you'll regain the grip. At this point you got it, you want the engine to respond fast to help you to balance the car. Of course there are turbo racing cars. Especially the old ones have a lot of lag. But this doesn't mean drivers like it. But it was the same for all and some managed better to solve the problem. Because it really is a problem.
