If that minor should hurt another person with that obtained firearm, a person could be guilty of a felony and be punished with up to five years of jail time, an up to $5,000 fine, or both; that would jump to a potential 15 year jail sentence, up to $7,500 in fines, or both, should that minor kill another person with the obtained firearm.
This would not apply to instances of ranching or farming, target practices, hunting or instruction in the safe use of a firearm. It would also not apply should an employed minor need to possess a firearm.
