True point, however, key differences.
Cyberpunk, trailer included, was hyped up by the company itself. And when it got released, rightfully so, the game got SLAMMED by a pretty sizeable portion of the gaming community (minus the ones that either didn't care or actually liked it as it was released - some called it a masterpiece of storytelling, lol).
Another thing, is that as a public figure (and we all know this) you always hold or should hold some responsibility and accountability, if deserved. This is like a 3rd hidden side of the coin discussion about gambling, NFTs, scams, etc: Do we all accept our own responsibility as individuals, or do people with a following have influence on our decisions?. You can't have both, and it's not neither either. It's either one or the other. If it's the first one, then we should all agree that scamming is bad, we don't like it but that's it. Anyone who got scammed or got into obsessive gambling was on their own decision and their own responsibility. If it's the second, we should say "Hey, kids watch streamers gamble, so they gamble and lose the money" just the same as "streamers and CCs did NOT put a halt into the game's hype".
Anyone reasonable enough, that had played the alpha in august 2020, or the latest beta before release, if honest, would've said "listen, this is kinda shit. Please fix it before release". But guess what, it's CONTENT. It lasted what, 2-3 months? And then Lost Ark came out. And whenever those cycles end, if there is nothing new, they will go for variety, maybe some drama (depending on each creator), reacting or fall back onto what they know be it speedruns of old games, WoW, FFXIV or whatever else.
I still agree with you on the fact that the company itself should've held it and cooked it for another year. We've all said that playing the alpha in 2020 and then the alpha/beta in 2021. But it got released anyway.
