  1. You are not petty Louis, I would do the same if I were you. Or I guess that makes 2 petty guys? haha. But I bought the family plan. I won't translate to dollars, but just by the numbers you can get a sense of it. For Directv with some movie/channel packs and football (soccer), I think here they pay 13k to 15k a month. For YT Family premium plan... IT WAS 178. They increased the price "a lot" in one swoop from 178 to... 700. Not my parents, but my brother and I do watch a lot of YT and even if I could do without it and not pay them considering the platform isn't great in many aspects, there are other people that use it. So we probably won't stop paying it, it's just too good of a deal. And cable sucks ass (Directv satellite included). Edit: I disagree with you on one thing, and is about the advertising. I mean I do agree that is BS, and I too grew out of it. I grew out of watching tv altogether as well, let alone news, etc. But most people don't have the time or energy to fight all of that/ they are just not like us. We're actually outside the norm. So that's where the power of advertising shines. Is not so you think "Oh wow, this product is amazing, I'll buy it!". It's just so you SEE IT and remember about it later. Later could be hours, days, weeks or maybe months later. You will need idk a fucking sponge, and while looking through the shelves on the supermarket you see different brands, you see the prices and you see that one with the quirky funny ads that make you laugh and you think "Oh is not that much more expensive, fine, I'll try it!" and if the product is good enough, you'll stick with it. That's how they get you in most cases.
