As a film student I now understand better exactly why better producers tend to be women. At first I thought "it was just because" women are generally better at planning things out and/or multitasking, but not necessarily doing one task at a time better than men (at least this has been my personal perception for a while now). This is why often times it feels like women are more keen to detail or "care about details" more, but then go overboard with planning and putting things on their plate and end up messing up more than one task or if 1 fails, then it's like a domino effect. With this video it's now very interesting to see how things like videogaming can affect this function. Often times the best producers were women in the age of late 20's or early 30s, potentially people who have rarely or never played any game. (old school let's say). And when Dr K mentions the "huge task that is paralyzing" is the "I don't know where to start" feeling I guess. Edit: Also, funnily enough, I've been thinking for a while that I am very good (and kind of always have been) at analyzing things with what I'm given. Realest scenario: people talk to you and you're a good listener and give them great advice. But at the same time always felt that, despite a lot of people saying I'm smart and "I know a lot", I actually know very little. To some extent, it's true. Now I can see exactly what's at play and the explanation for it.
