Well, because you weren't out in the "house of a friend" playing DND and being a good boi. You were skateboarding, aka inhaling some glue. At least that's how it works in some parents' minds. For my father, tattoos and ear plugs were signs of clearly selling weed and committing crimes even though a lot of my friends actually took good care of all of us younger people, prevented us from smoking, told us not to drink too much, some took me home on their bike to make sure I got there safe, etc.
But you have to understand a parents' perspective too. You're out and about all day long doing something that, in their eyes, is not truly productive and leads to "bad stuff". And they don't hear from you for hours or an entire day or more. It's logical for them to think you're a drug addict and you'll end up in jail. I'm not saying it's correct, but it's understandable.
