  1. They are better in performance no question, but considering the context even if they add this open source support, buying Nvidia wouldn't be doing anyone any favors. Besides, is not like Nvidia is fantastic either, including Windows. It might work a bit better generally than AMD but they do have their fair share of glitches, bugs, driver crap, etc. not including the company's doings themselves.
