Argentina has been sunk due to over 50 years of decadent policies and stupid socialism, "protecting" national work and products.
These 1st world countries have been at the top for way too long getting comfortable not realizing what they're doing. Or maybe actually realizing and still doing it.
COVID was a barrier for sure, but made them believe it was A PROBLEM of free trade and now they're going to house their own manufacturing. Is not going to work.
Joe Biden (and Co) is pouring money into all of this move, I bet my balls without cutting back on government spendings to find no deficit/equilibrium. USA is going to face massive inflation, and for that the salaries are going to be worthless against the costs, which are going to be higher anyway due to housing the production. Living in the US is already much more costly than other places, and "generally speaking" people earn their money somewhat accordingly to those expenses.
Also, restricting trades will make it so different countries will have monopolies on certain things. Depending of which country has the most valuable material is the one that is going to win.
And in addition I can back up my claims looking at my own country's history, and contrast it with Freumble's comment about his company. Small and mid bizz getting shafter by govs is always a classic, and they are actually the backbone of a country's economy since they are the ones that can be opened quickly, almost anywhere and give people jobs, a place to go and supply resources.
Unless they stop this is going to go to shit and/or see 2nd or 3rd world countries rise up and become dominant.
