@HistoryMadeSimple90 It does sound improbable but seeing how weak and incompetent the Russian army is who knows. Wasn't there a German civilian that flew all the way from West Germany and landed at the red square without being stopped in 1987 or something?

Should disband the UN and redirect all those funds to Ukraine to rebuild instead of throwing them into this black hole of a useless organisation.

The last thing Ukraine wants is to escalate things and give Putin and the Russians a reason to send more troops into Ukraine.

I think the Mongols should reinstate Moscow as their vassal, that's only fair as it was back in the good old days.

@Jay-hr3rh Well it is getting what it's asking for... they go around trying to expand on their neighbours behalf and now half the world treats them like the warmongers they are. If they want to become the next North Korea then let's respect their wishes and help them get there.

A distraction for what? They did not take any territory in Donbas and their push has been slowed down and reversed in the south and now they are sitting in Russia for 10 days doing nothing while Ukraine has been rushing heavy equipment and manpower to eastern Ukraine to prepare for them. They could not appear to be more incompetent even if they tried to.

I don't think we should stare too blindly at Russia's "official" reasons for going to war there was a lot of natural resources discovered around that area and in Crimea so as much as Putin is repeating the good old NATO enemy and Nazis there are plenty of other reasons for him to focus down on Crimea and eastern Ukraine. Also I think there is a difference between what Putin and his ever shrinking circle of elites feel like is a do or die situation for them and the Russian public in general. Even if Putin wants to fully mobilize does not mean Russians in general will go along with it. Russia's air capabilities has been severely limited by the use of stinger missiles and Anti-air systems from the west. On paper it looks like Russia has the edge but on paper they had an edge in the Kyiv region too and they just could not get things done. It's hard to factor things like Morale and Discipline of soldiers into the equation too, I mean even if you have the most expensive modern equipment in the world it won't matter if your troops will drop the gear and run away as soon as they get fired upon.

Don't think they need to, they just rebuild the dam and make sure no water goes into the region and it will be a huge money waste and burden on the Russian economy. That region is a logistic disaster for the Russians and cost them huge amount of funds to make life sustainable, better to leave it be and focus on holding off any Russian advancement into Donbas.

@evolassunglasses4673 There was never any urgent need for them to move East, the Russian advance stopped quite a while ago there and even in the South it has reversed. I could see the logic if the Russians kept gaining ground to the East and South but they didn't. Now the troops have been sitting in Russia for 10 days giving Kyiv plenty of time reinforce the East in preparation.

What is "modern media"? All media sources in the world EXCEPT Russian state-owned TV?

Why would you listen to the Russian president, he said originally that they did not invade at all it was just a military exercise remember? There are plenty of sources of information out there to find out what's going on why would you pick the one which everyone knows is lying?
