That's pretty funny considering Chinese authorities were given the script and made edits to adapt it for the Chinese market, I guess the Chinese authorities are just as tone deaf as Disney as to what people want to see and just want to make sure it's not breaking one of the millions Chinese censorship laws.

@mirandasong9854 Supposedly they were advised by the Chinese authorities NOT to link Mulan to any specific dynasty so they just added elements from a lot of different dynasties. The Chinese authorities did not allow them to call the bad guys Huns or Mongols like they did in the cartoon either for some reason.

@Jyoo609 I am pretty sure it would be A then, I bet the Chinese authorities would love it if ALL western movie companies would let them edit their scripts for their movies. Also the "foreign born Chinese" actress is a big household name in China and she is very pro CCP so more than likely the Chinese authorities "recommended" her for Disney :p.

@eutoob I just think the CCP desire to be able to get scripts from movies so they can edit it in the future is something that weighs a lot to them. Having lived in China for 6 years western movies are superior anyway as it is. Any time there is a superhero movie coming out the Chinese go crazy about it. I remember infinity wars it just crushed everything in sales in China. I actually am pretty sure the top 5 all time movies in China when it comes to box office records are marvel movies lol. There just is no competition from the local movie market.

@calvinchan8511 Indeed, well who knows maybe the CCP will censor farts in the future - you can never be too sure.

@vonfaustien3957 Yeah I think you are right about that, they do have a lot of unrest in their inner mongolia region right now as well.

@drmayeda1930 I doubt it, the movie was allowed to air in China after all. Not complying with the CCP censorship is a good way to get your movie... censored in China.
